Generation Google Scholarship: for women in computer science, previously known as Google Women Techmakers Scholarship (formerly Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship) aims at helping students pursuing computer science degrees excel in technology and become leaders in the field.

Generation Google Scholarship program is distributed across three regions -APAC (Asia PACific), EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), and US (United States), and it includes a scholarship amount ranging from 1,000 USD to 10,000 USD depending on the region, a fully funded retreat at any of the Google headquarters where you will meet other Scholars, Googlers and access to exclusive resources and an amazing community of scholars.

I was selected as a Generation Google Scholar APAC in May 2021. I got to learn a lot from this program and connected with the most supportive community of Googlers & Scholars. It was a life-changing event for me and I want more and more people to experience it. I am writing this blog to benefit all students who wish to participate in the future. It has 4-parts:

PART 1: Application Phase

How I missed the application last year, eligibility criteria, and a few tips to a good application.

PART 2: Online Assessment

A brief description of how you can go about the online assessment and what worked for me!

PART 3: Interview / 30 min video conversation with a Googler
